Summer Reading List

{Linky Party!}
My summer reading list....Well this first one is required by  our school district, but I already have delved into it and love the ideas in this book:
Choice Words By Peter Johnson
Our school will be having a book discussion when we return in the fall.
I ♥ this book because it reminds educators how powerful our choice of words can be...words can motivate, encourage, and shape a students view of themselves.
This one made by summer reading list.

Required reading aside, my Grammy-in-Law sent   The Hunger Games  my way ( and the other two books by Suzanne Collins!)

It is popular with all the students, I thought I would figure out what they are talking about. This one is a good read for by the lake.

  1. You are going to eat up those books . . . I read all three in four days. My poor husband was utterly ignored until he started reading them as well :)

    On another note . . . as I am typing I notice something that I so need to take a peek at. Your writing narratives has caught my eye and I will be checkin' things out as soon as I hit publish :) Pop in for a visit if you get a chance. I am hosting my very first linky and would love for you to join.

  2. "Choice Words" sounds like it would be a great book - I might have to check that one out! I haven't read the Hunger Games.

  3. I have never heard of Choice Words, but I agree we can elevate or deflate a child in a few words!! I will have to look into this one. I read The Hunger Games and will have to find someone with the rest of the series to finish:)
